Clean & Safe Stamp

Considering the widespread concern in the resumption of economic and social activity as soon as the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic allows, Turismo de Portugal (official portuguese Tourism promoter) created a “Clean and Safe” seal of approval to distinguish the tourist activities which are compliant with the cleaning and hygiene requirements in the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other possible infections.

The focus is on the hygiene and cleaning requirements to ensure the safety of the various establishments, according to the recommendations of the DGS – Portuguese Health Authority, as well as promoting Portugal as a safe destination reinforcing the confidence of those who visit the country. It requires the implementation of an internal protocol (click the image for more information) that will ensure the necessary cleaning and hygiene procedures to avoid risks of contamination and guarantee safe procedures for the operation of tourist activities.

In the event of a suspected case there will be an employee responsible for following the necessary procedures including escorting the guest to the isolation area and providing the necessary medical assistance in accordance with the Portuguese Health Authorities recommendations. The isolation area is to be decontaminated after a positive or suspected case and the cleaning an hygiene reinforced. Audits of establishments that join this “Clean and Safe” initiative will be carried out by Turismo de Portugal, in coordination with the competent entities.
